When clicking on the add a topic button, the screen displays as seen below.

I'm using iThemes Builder theme, with wishlist member plugin.

I have created a unique role, and confirmed permission mapping.

Any ideas what might be causing this behavior?

Thanks,
Ken

Seen below? Nothing is attached.
I am going to assume that the editor either does not display or you can't enter text in it. You most probably have a JavaScript conflict - your wp theme or another plugin - which needs to be fixed. This codex article explains what this means and what to look for:

This is usually pretty simple to fix up.

Thanks.

It looks like I the site loads the correct type of jquery, and I did not see any duplicates listed.

Oh wow! Open your forum and hover over the one forum name you have there and look at the URL being generated! Do you know what on earth all that script stuff is embedded in the URL?

The client had done the initial WP install.  Wonder if there is something screwy with the base wp install?  Virus, adware, etc?

Other things "Appear" to work as advertised, but I don't know

Are you using Kontera ads? A quick google search suggests that this might be the culprit and I am also seeing other WP reports of various plugins and themes being messed up by this.

Not using them by design.    Not sure if the previous developer somehow embedded them within the underlying code as a way to siphon some traffic/income ?

Sounds like I might need to do a fresh install of WP if that is the issue.

Odd. I am seeing several references to this code getting into urls and Kontera seems to be the culprit. nothing in the theme options for ads? Or an ad plugin of any sort?

Worth looking perhaps in the themes functions.php file for any mention and explicitly for that string of text...
