One last thing remaining, in the new forum location the new members in the footer of the forum aren't updating, any ideas?
I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread but I thought if I added it to this one you would know the background of why it may have happened.

Most of that information is cached and only refreshed hourly. If it has been more than an hour since it was updated then that suggests that your WP Cron (scheduled tasks) sub-system is not functional.
As easy way to test this is to write a blog post and set it to be published in 5 minutes time. Then watch and see if it gets done. If it does then your Cron is working. Either way you can remove the post of course!
If Cron IS working but the forum Cron tasks are not - then it can usually be jogged back into action by simply deactivating the Simple:Press plugin (NOT Uninstall of course!) and then when done immediately reactivating it.
Then wait and see what happens.
