We're seeing some very hinky behavior with Simple Press. We have a Wishlist Member integration going on, we've set up a custom user role for all new WLM members. I believe our mapping is correct.
They (regular members) seem to be able to reply to topics, create them, and reply with quotes.
However, our Moderators cannot, and as an Admin, I'm getting permission denied errors when trying to see individual posts.
I am seeing this in the error logs, again and again:

Before we do anything can you just give me a little history. For example - you say you are running WP 3.5 (and actually the latest is 3.6). But which version of Simple:Press are you currently using? Also - is this a new problem? Did it just start after an update and if so from which version?
And - just to help in determining the best course of action - do you have many forums?

We're running:
WordPress 3.6
SimplePress 3.5. Have not done the upgrade to 3.5.1 you just released.
We had a license authentication fail with WishlistMember, had to re-authenticate that. Then, we took all of the Wishlist Member plugins off line, and re-activated them one by one. Their Wishlist Welcome plugin was the culprit. It was wrecking simplepress, and throwing errors all over the front end of our site.
I think we have this mostly sorted out now, except for one thing. Logged in as Admin in SimplePress, there are forums I'm getting denied access to, and I'd assumed anyone with Admin privileges would be able to see everything. I'm wondering if it's necessary to add myself in to the group that owns all of the forums in order to be able to see them.
Thanks for your time in responding to this.
no, admins dont and cannot belong to usergroups... they get auto access... at least should...
if you have sorted the other stuff as you indicate, please try going to forum - toolbox - housekeeping and try resetting the auths cache...
if still problem after that look in db.. the sfauths table... how many rows have the admin_negate column set to 1? and which are they?

Nice, hadn't considered resetting the auths cache. Still getting my mind around the curiously named Simple Press I guess 'Deeply Complex Press' wouldn't have the same panache.
Will do, and the other database table stuff if that doesn't work.

please let us know...
Hey, thanks for the follow up.
Ok, so - resetting the auth cache didn't solve the 'Access denied' errors issue, but did result in nice little mouse-over pop-up notices beginning to appear on the forums, so that's nice.
We checked the sfauths table, and there are two tables where it's set to 1:
view_own_admin_posts
reply_own_topics
Should we just manually set those to zero?
Also, we're also seeing some odd behavior in the amount of time it takes for a new post, topic addition, or quote reply working. They show up, but it actually takes a few minutes for them to appear.
