If you have something like the WordPress Advanced TinyMCE plugin installed the forum will try and use the same settings and Tiny plugins.
If you don't use the advanced Tiny plugin you can deactivate and Simple:Press will use the ones you have set in the Forum Components Tiny settings.
If you want to keep the Advanced Tiny plugin then you probably will need to edit it's settings and maybe some CSS in the forum to get it to display properly. If that's the case I would start with removing any buttons from the Advanced Tiny plugin that you currently don't use and then go from there.
yeah.. this is really starting to get . mind numbing..
So the issue of the text editor not showing up just started happening again.. here is the strange thing.. if i log in as myself admin.. i am unable to see the editor.. if i log in as a test user.. basically a standard access user.. the text editor is there.. and functioning..
any idea?
started showing up again?? did something change? dumb question I know since you are working issues...
are you running any caching plugins?
and do you have any wp plugins that give admins special permissions on the front end? ie more js loaded?

OK.. just checking back in..
I did get this resolved.. essentially there was an conflict with the WP tinyMCE editor and the SP TinyMCE.. I didnt really use the TinyMCE on our blog posts.. so i just deactivated it and uninstalled it.. and reactivated it in SP admin..
all is well.. we have the functionality that we desire.. i did read there was a work around if i wanted to use both .. but i had to evaluate it.. and after 100+ blog posts.. we realized we just didnt need it in WP.. but really wanted it in the SP forum
all is well .. i am very happy with the quick response we get here.. and its worth have this in depth resource.. when my 2 month comes up ill be adding a year..
Thanks
Dan

I am having the same problem. Just upgraded to 5.2 and lost the editor. Even if I choose the text editor I cannot even get a cursor in the box to show up let alone the editors toolbox. I have no commerce plugins and no text editor plugins either in WP. BTW the WP text editor toolbox shows up and functions perfectly. I have a paid membership site and the forum is now useless until I figure this out. ANYONE please help offer some solutions. All was fine until the upgrade and as I understand it, I cannot roll back to the previous version or I would.
Thanks
did you also upgrade the tinymce plugin to version 2.0.2?

is that a regular account? vs wp/sp admin?
you are getting a bunch of js errors on page loads... they are stopping js from running... they seem to be coming from wishlist member welcome message plugin... its failing to load some ajax on the forum page...
now we know wishlist member works with simple press as we use it and they use simple press as their forum of choicer for their insider stuff...
it seems you are also running wishlist tags which unfortunately the wishlist folks admit conflicts with simple press though usually in the admin... they are working a fix and frankly had expected it by now...
your site is also attempting to load:
http://retirecheap.tv/members/....._plugin.js
not sure that is valid... its kind of look like wishlist tags is not been updated to support use of the wp tinymce editor in locations other than the admin...
but still only a hypothesis... as a test, could you temp disable the wishlist welcome and wishlist tags plugins to see if it makes any difference?
