Support Forum
I love this new theme; it's clean and mobile friendly. It's a huge upgrade from the Default theme I had previously. However, there's one issue - both the Add Topic and Add Reply buttons don't work when viewed from a desktop. They are non-responsive.
I've tried all of the following, and note that I don't use a caching plugin:
- Deactivated all WP plugins accept Simple:Press
- Deactivated all SP plugins
- Reset both combined CSS and JS cache
- Cleared browser cache
None of this had any effect on the issue; it still persists. Any ideas?
Also, for mobile, my forum rank badges only show on user profiles for admins. Any way to make them be shown for all users as they are on a desktop?
No idea without looking. There is NO change to the code by using a different theme - it is the same as before.
The only thing that might change is the use of tooltips. Did you have the 'fancy' tooltips turned off when using the Default theme?
The best thing to do is to look for scripting errors using the web console (see the FAQ: https://simple-press.com/docum.....r-console/ for details)
I did try and look but you have it behind a curtain at the moment.
Yes you can add anything back to the mobile side of things. The reason some things are missing is simply the usual practice of trying to utilise the smaller real estate to the best UI we can. The5e is just not room for everything.
So it will require some template editing to change things. If you want to go ahead the first thing is to download the child version of the theme and start using that instead - there will be no difference to the display. When that is in place I can tell you what templates need to be copied and finally edited.

Your newly chosen WP theme uses the BootStrap script library unsupported by WordPress. It needed our tooltips library turning off which I have done, You should really now install the Reboot Child Theme and change and use that instead to save losing changes on future updates of the Reboot theme.

Okay, I've installed the Reboot Child Theme framework. Do I need to keep both that and the Reboot theme installed?
I see now that the Add Topic and Add Reply buttons work on the Reboot theme now that you made those changes but they don't work on the child theme. How can we fix this?
Which one of these should be set as my Current Theme?

Set the child theme as your current theme. Edit the child theme spFunctions.php file in the /templates folder (you can use the theme editor from out themes menu) to turn off the tooltips. See the notes at the very top of that file for directions.
This worked! Thank you!
good news... thanks for the update...
