Hi! Thanks for the great plug-in, but we can't seem to get something to work... the \"Add Topic\" button doesn't take you anywhere.

Go to this page to see what I mean. When you click on the button, it doesn't let you add a topic: http://noboundariesmultisport......iscussion/

Any insight will be so helpful. Thank you for your time.

looks like your wp-slider plugin is incorrectly loading its own version of jquery and its causing js conflicts...

more info:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-conflict/

Thanks for the quick reply! I deactivated the plug-in, but it still didn't work... so I did an experiment and deactivated EVERY plug-in I have installed and the "Add Topic" still didn't work!

Any other suggestions? This is really frustrating. 🙁

Any insight will be so helpful. Thanks

Yes, I temporarily reverted back and it worked fine on the default theme. I'd like to try to find what is in my current theme that could be causing this problem. I've searched up and done for a forum solution and this is the best one, but after many hours building this site, I just can't afford to build a new site to get Simple Press to work.

That link above with the jquery codex info gets redirected to the membership sign up page, even though I'm logged in.

Do you know of a pretty simple way of trying to figure out what script in my current theme could be causing the problem? I've spent so many hours trying to figure this out and I feel like I'm going crazy.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

your account is fine on the codex.  please note, after you go to the codex, you need to log into that site... same credentials as here, but you do need to log in...

the issue is when themes or plugins dont load js (including jquery) properly... for example you have a plugin loading this

<script type='text/javascript' src='http://noboundariesmultisport.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-slider/js/jquery.min.js?ver=1.7.1'></script>

is that slider a plugin you use separately or is part of the theme?

See if you can locate where its improperly loading its own version of jquery instead of the version of jquery that comes with wp...  we can help correct it then...

since I cannot post as a guest, I cannot actually try to get the error and see if that is it or not...

Thanks so much for helping me Mr. Papa!

That is a separate plugin I purchased to integrate. I don't mind finding another one if this is the reason why the forum isn't working. I deactivated the plugin and the simple code that tries to pull the slideshow on the homepage. It should be gone now.

The forum still isn't working so maybe there is something else? I'm going to send you a private message with log in credentials so you can help, if that's okay.

I really appreciate your time in helping me. 🙂

I am afraid your theme is also guilty. it is loading the two main jQuery libraries from this folder - '/wp-content/themes/felici/sprites/js/' - as well as defining some javascript itself that is badly formed.

Do you know what this 'sprites' folder is within your theme? And if you want to send me a copy of the themes functions.php file I might be able to see what is wrong. For that is probably where the issue can be found. If you would like to try this then send a zipped copy to support at simple-press dot com.

I can help but not through the admin panels I am afraid. And the header and functions file do NOT contain the script calls. Once found 99% of the time they are easy to fix and will have no ill effect on the site.

I really want to help here but the only way is going to be to zip up the entire theme and email it to me. Then I can locate the problem and we can fix it together. Unless you are willing to look through the code and find the alls to jQuery...
