I am not sure what Steve had in mind here. But some of the better themes/plugins do offer options to disable components on specific pages. If yours does not do that then you would be into some coding but I gather you would rather not do that.

Steve may have other ideas and he will almost certainly be around later in the day...

Just responding to earlier comment about user removing the js... Was just suggesting if it was vital to pages other than forum page, it could just be removed on the singular forum page...

This would be done by checking the page id or title and not loading vice just removing the js loading...
