Support Forum
Hi,
I've been asked to add an additional topic listing on the forum view page sorted by the topic's first post date.
The vision is that it would exist on the page beside the regular listing. Ignoring the issue of how to fit this on the page, is there an easy-ish way to display two topic listings of the same forum on the same page using built in SP functions and/or filters?
I've looked around the codex without success.
Thanks!
David
It is difficult to form a reply to this in many respects.
I sort of understand the goal - although not the reasoning - and I also know that most, if not all, the components you would need to achieve it are sort of/probably available in one form or another.
But without some detailed design of how this is supposed to work, look, function - and where it is supposed exactly to display itself - then it is impossible to advise or really comment on feasibility. Need a lot more detail I am afraid.
I would point out straight away though that if this is a busy forum then doubling the display up in any way is going to hit performance noticeably and that by utilising a different and non-standard sorting option means that none of the special caching we perform will be available.
