Support Forum
Hi,
I did not have any problems upgrading from 3.4 to 3.5 in the development and test WP install which run the same versions of everything (PHP, MySQL, Apache, etc). Admins had the ability to view, edit, etc right away with no changes. In fact, the test and development WP installs are on the same server, just in a subdirectory accessed through a subdomain.
When I upgraded Simple:press on the Production Wordpress site, the administrators now get the error: "The requested group does not exist or you do not have permission to view it".
Has anyone run into this problem.
Sincerely,
Ricki
Sorry, what do you mean upgrade from 3.4 to 3.5??? is that the WP version or sp version? Either way, both oldâ¦
Can you clarify please?

I fear that you may have experienced an embarrassing bug that a few users have experienced before although the vast majority do not - and one that we have never been able to track down and replicate - which causes a corruption in the permissions.
The quickest. most accurate and easiest way to put things right is to go to the forum admin > Permissions < Reset Permissions and run that task.
The downside of this I am afraid is that it clears the user group/permission set relationships on your forums and they need to be manually rebuilt. If there are not that many forums then this is not difficult or that time-consuming and just a nuisance. if you have a large number of forums of course, it can be more than a nuisance.
And we are very sorry you have experienced the issue.
There are alternative methods. We can try and rebuild your data manually but that will involve letting us have a copy of your database to work on and will take us some time as it is - shall we say - delicate work!
