Support Forum
A coworker and I are both admins of the SP forum but don't seem to have the same permissions.
- New registrations - He gets emails for new registrations and can approve or deny them. I don't get those emails.
- New topic - I get emailed when there is a new topic posted - but can't moderate or approve. He doesnt get those emails.
Yet, when we did a gotomeeting and looked at our permissions - they seem to be the same. He has more admin writes over the the other areas of our WP website. Would that affect the SP forum admin responsibilities?
I'm confused
what kind of admins? remember that wp admins are not sp admins... sp admins are unique users with special admin capabilities for the forum admin panels... you can add new sp admns on forum - admins - manage admins...
and then each admin, can set up their own options, like receive notifications, on their forum - admins - your admin options panel...

I think Steve must have mis-read the question so I will give it a try!
New Registrations: You say he can approve or deny a new registrant. This is not something that WP does naturally so suggests you may be using some sort of registration or membership plugin. Either way - this is not an SP function but purely WordPress and/or associated plugins.
New Topic: Notification emails are optional so does he have them turned on? In what way are you unable to moderate/approve new posts? Is the option just not there on the forum tools popup menu?

Thanks for the follow up. Re: New topic, he does have notification emails option turned on.
When I get an email notification - it looks like the below message. As you can see it reads "9 topics awaiting review" - is there an area I need to go to from the dashboard to approve posts/topics?
New forum post on your site: RTM Consulting

On the email front I am afraid this too is within the province of WordPress - we just call the WP mail routines. However - it is worth noting that they are notoriously 'picky' and the subject of contiunued support questions on the WP forums. I would suggest installing the 'HGK SMTP' WP plugin which usually seems to resolve email problems for most users with them.
If you are imposing moderation on your users posts (or some of them) then I would recommend installing the SP 'Admin Bar' plugin which will give you a quick entry into the new posts, allow you to reply to them in one place and also approve those in moderation. Note after activating it though each Admin has to set the option to see it (in the Your Admin Options' panel.
