Is there a way for the admin to message the members of a single group? The only option I see for mass mailing for an admin is to the entire user base.

Does autocomplete on the To: field mean that we can't paste in a comma-separated list of members? If we could do that, then we could write a script which queries SP to get all the members of a group, and then the admin could copy and paste this list into the To: field. Not super elegant but it would work.

No - it doesn't take a comma separated list. I think trying to shoe-horn something in place for a user group level pm is going to be difficult until we actually do that development which is on the list for the next PM features update.
Again - let us discuss it here to see what sort of timeframe we might be able to offer that in.
