After updating, the whole forum is messed up

I think this happened after updating the plugin. The structure and format of the forum are gone. Please see here http://www.zhigouusa.com/bbs/ ( I have translated into Chinese)

updating from what version to what version??

looks like one of two issues...

first, try going to forum - options - global settings and disable the combines css cache...

if that doesnt work, then you may have a host who does not allow php parsing of css files... so try our css only theme and see if that works... though if working on 5.x version previously, not likely this...

also worth checking forum - integration - storage location for any issues...
