I tried disabling most of WP plugins, tried another theme but nothing happen.  I knew this would not impact because I'm able to show your forum feed on my page.

Wonder if I now should disable/delete S:P and start over?

Well, after spending more time into this, I think I will simply pass and forget about it.  I may have a big problem but I believe there is also a general problem with RSS feed updates and I don't know yet if it's WP related or S:P related.

For exemple I visited http://www.slidedeck.com/wordpress/ and on the right we can enter a RSS feed, so I took the All RSS link from here (button at bottom) and guess what, the most recent post shown by the slider is 6 hours old and this is not the case when I look here.  Obviously there are delay and I have no idea where they are coming from.  I'm not a RSS expert either so I don't know exactly how this should work.

It would have been great to be able to display the 5 most recent post in a sidebar but it looks like it's not that way I will be able to do that.

On any WP page with a sidebar I wanted to show the 5 most recent post.  Since RSS is should update with every new post and that WP comes with a RSS widget I thougt I was set.

What S:P built in widget you are talking about?  I took another look at the bottom of the download page and dont see one.  I don't know template tags, I will look in codex if it's described, what are they, and what we can do and how to use those.

If you install the template tags plugin and turn it on you will see a new widget available in WP. It is in the download page, center column close to the bottom.

You can add it to be shown in  a sidebar or wherever your theme allows widgets.

See the info here in the codex help files on how it is setup and used.

You can also put it anywhere on your site using ?php sp_RecentPostsTag().

All the option are shown at the top of the template-tags/library/sp-RecentPosts-tag.php file.

I use them quite a bit if you want to see an example of it. On http://vulkanocommunity.com/forum/ you will see the widget in the right sidebar. If you go to the home page you will see the tag used by itself in the right column. (Recent Discussions)

Took a look there but I just don't know how to use those.  I wanted to lower the font size so I guess I need to look at tagClass but where do I define the styling?

Also, instead of using a disc for UL, was wondering if the avatar could be used?  Maybe it's not possible.

yes of course, need to turn on the avatar in the widget... we dont use any disc or anything for ul/li elements... that would be your wp theme... you can remove it by adding css to your wp theme... since its not always on a forum page, our css is not loaded... all widget and template tag styling would go in your wp theme css file...
