Hang on a moment here. Your title says specifically 'animated smileys'. If you mean smileys from the forum custom smileys collection then these are not subject to thumbnails OR any form of image processing. Which would indicate the problem lies elsewhere... Can you confirm please.. smileys or uploaded images?

Not MY title, but the title of the original post - I always search the forums to see if others are having the same issue and/or there's already a solution before I start a new topic, when I posted I thought the issue I was having was possibly linked to what the person who started this topic was experiencing because the behavior seemed similar.... if you'd rather I just always start a new topic with every issue I come across I'll do that in future

While we're on the topic of smileys, is there a way for mobile to handle them differently...or is there a group of smileys which are made for mobile? Currently, smileys show up on mobile as a huge face due them not being responsive.

Was that to me? Here's what it looks like on my iphone when entered both ways.
Hmmm...your smileys show up as normal when viewed on my phone, though they are gigantic when viewed from my forum.
