Anonyomous user is unable to see the attachments. In the link below, there are two attachments which only the logged on user can see but the anonymous user would think that we have missed out on the attachments. The anonyomous user should be able to see the files but when he clicks on them, he is directed to the registration/login page. I checked the permissions but there doesn't seem to be an option for doing that.

Edit: Sorry for the incomplete topic title. Just forgot to put the complete topic name here.
I am not sure whether that will be a specialist requirement.Users actually mail us that there's no files attached to the post. We can put something like this though in the posts to remove the ambiguity
"You will be able to view and download the files after logging in" but that just sounds as though we are putting up the post just to make the people register
Well it is really quite a specific requirement - certainly one we have never been asked for before. I simply mean by this that it is something that fits into your own workflow but doubtfully required by other users. Hence specialist.
What we might be able to do - and I would need to research this and check on it - is put a filter on the attachment link so that some custom code could override it and redirect to wherever it needed to go. But as I say , will need to do a little research into that. If I find anything I will come back to you.

I see no reason why we can't do that. I have opened a ticket and left a note for Steve (who coded this part) explaining the requirement. Just needs to be put in place and named. We can let you know that when done so you can replictae it if you wish.
Do you know how to use WP actions/filters and code for them?

Sounds great. I don't know anything about WP actions/filters. But what is google for? I'll search and try to learn about them a bit 🙂
