the rss feeds have sufficient hooks for you to do this... you just need to hook in and adjust the db query to get what you want...
on the road today so dont have the code handy to give you recommendation... If I can will see what I can do from the hotel tonight...

took quick look last night but ran out of time... and seems more involved than I thought... more info would be needed too...
like which rss feeds? all? and where to link? to last post in topic?

after some further research, afraid this not really possible... well, it is with a good deal of coding - essentially replacing the current logic... just not that feasible...
I thought it would be possible to filter the dataset return by the feeds, but there is not a hook for such action... and it appears that if so done, it might be difficult to do because the looping logic assumes a specific structure to the data... basically it uses a List Post Class object but you want it to be a List Topic Class object.. and no easy way to move between the two...
so the easiest thing is to just filter the results at end... but essentially code up the entire current feed generation in the code for the filter and switch to list topic class...
I can try to walk you through it if you like... but I do want to think on it a bit more too...
