Support Forum
Hello everyone!
First, I want to thank you Word press and Simple press, which is a very good forum plugin. It helped me a lot to build a great community, it was easy, with a lot of options to customize my forum! :]
If I come to you today, it's because I have a lot of lags on the forum, and my error.log is full of undred of errors. Here is an exemple of the type of error I can see:
[Sun Aug 05 06:44:08 2012] [error] [client xx.xxx.xx.xx] PHP Warning: unserialize() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/xxx/www/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/subscriptions/sp-subscriptions-plugin.php on line 167, referer: http://www.exemple.fr/forum
I really have no clue how to solve these problems (fixing the errors and avoid a lot of lagging on the forum), so I come here because I hope some of you can help me. Sometimes the forum is fluid, fast and everything is OK, and for no reason, it can take 1 minute to load a topic, and when someone post something and click on "Post this reply", it can take approximately the same time.
I have another problem: When I try to upgrade these SP plugins: "Private Message"and "System Subscriptions", I have the error "access denied, you don't have the permission". I have updated all other plugins successfully, and I have the latest WP and SP versions (Word press 3.4.1 and Simple press 5.1.3).
I thank you for your help by advance,
Regards
it doesnt look like you are running latest sp subscriptions plugins though... line 167 is an empty line... so please make sure updated.. unless that is related to your error... system subscriptions??? what is that? assume you just mean subscriptions?
suggest downloading them from the downloads page and ftp them up...
not sure how you would be able to update some plugins and not others... no different kind of permission checks or anything... do you know if the error is sp error message or wp error? maybe post the whole error...

Hey Mr Papa, thanks a lot for your answer!
I successfully updated the SP plugins (system subscriptions and Private message). I don't know what exactly is "system subscriptions", but I didn't mean only "subscriptions". It was the name of one of the SP plugins I had to update.
The errors in the error.log are always related to SP and not WP. And I don't have any lag problems on my WP website, only on the forum. Here are some other errors I get. If you need it, I'll try to copy the whole error.log file in order to give you a better insight of the problem.

We don't actually have a plugin named 'system subscriptions' so like Steve - I have no idea what that is!
As to the logged Notices then I have no idea what that might be either without further information. Mostly the php error log will provide a code file and a line number and then we can address it - or at least discover what the cause is. Without that it could literally be anywhere. Are you sure this information is not provided?
And please don't paste your entire error log here. It doesn't really help -especially when they are so often duplicates.

Oh and sorry, indeed it was just "subscriptions" and not "system subscriptions"!
I'm not sure yet if this information is provided or not, what can I do to know that? If you don't want me to paste the whole error log here, what do you advice me to do in order to begin fixing these errors?
Thanks by advance!
and those 'errors' you allude to are no help either... they dont tell you the what/where... are you sure that's not an access log? the error log should be php, not apache...
so try this... go to forum - toolbox - error log... those will be php errors/warnings/notices that the forum sees... first, empty the error log... then check back to view it a bit later...
and report any errors listed there...
