Support Forum
Hi,
So I am attempting to modify the core plugin to replace the RPX login stuff with another plugin (in my case Super Socializer). I understand this likely isn't a supported use case, however it is the only way I can think of to get the right look and still get all the different social login options I want.
My idea is just to modify the spot where sp_rpx_loginform is called and replace it with the code to call the social login of super socializer (one line php call).
I believe a plugin could be formed from this idea. The admin form would need a new section under the RPX section with something like a checkbox to "enable alternate social login plugin" and then under it a text entry box for "php code / short code for alternate social login." The checkbox xor'ed with the RPX checkbox to avoid spatial conflict.
I just wanted to ask if you had any insight on this idea as it is your baby.
We will certainly talk it over. But I suspect you could do what you want by working with the forum theme templates. Alternatively just remove the login button and form from the forum header and allow the natural WordPress login + your alternate plugin, to be used instead - wherever you are using it now. Or wherever you want to use it - like a sidebar for example.
I need to check but I believe we have a ticket to review the whole RPX side of things and potentially remove or replace it so I suspect at some point in the not too distant future we may well be offering an alternate approach.
