There is a WordPress theme, developed by Automattic, called P2. It actually updates posts as comments, in real-time, without having to refresh the page. Maybe this theme would work as you described with Simple:Press and the WordPress comments and/or posts. (I linked to the theme if you would like to see it in action). I'm thinking of using this one with Simple:Press instead, because of the post/comment feature. http://p2theme.com/
I just wasn't sure if Simple:Press could update in real-time and I wanted to check before attempting it.
thats a wp theme... not an sp theme... and will have no impact on posting in the forum...
you would have to write an sp theme and use hooks into the forum api too force the ajax requests to happen...
