Automatically update fail

HI
I update to wordpress 4.0 and when I try to update simple:press plugin it's fail
The error is: An error occurred while updating Simple:Press: Could not remove the old plugin
Can I do a manual update?

Yes. You can download the zip file from here and then ftp it up and overwrite the current plugin folder. It might be useful to know why WordPress can not remove the old files however. It suggests perhaps a permission issue with the current plugin folder that might be worth investigating,
