Some of my members have tried to upload avatars and they do not work. Also have installed gravatar support, but it's also not showing the avatars except mine?

In the Forum Admin > Profiles - Avatars what are your Avatar priorities set at? Any of them below the SP Default Avatar one will not be used.

Just changed the settings, and with these settings they can upload the avatar but it only shows a red x? Will not display.

First thing - check the forum admin > Integration > Storage Locations to make sure that the uploaded avatars folder is readable and writable. Come on back when you have done that. Actually also - just depending on what browser you are using - probably worth clearing your browser cache as well just in case. Some browsers (IE in particular) gold on to the cache more persistently than others!

Yes, write is on. The little blue arrow, I assume that includes read too? I was able to change the members avatar by editing their profile, but for some reason they were not able to. It acted like it did it, but then their avatar would not show.

so grab the url for the avatar (its generating the red X)... and try to load it directly in your browser url... if it fails, you have a permissions issue on your server... the location of the avatars is not web accessible...  so you will need to check into wp-content/sp-resources/xxxx  where xxx is any subdir and verify the permissions and the uid/gid of the directories... should match those on wp-content...

Thank you! I *think* it's sorted out now, the avatar folder was NOT chmod 777 :)

well, we do not require 0777 on folders like the avatars... but your server permissions might... that still indicates to me the owner of the sp-resources folder is not right and perhaps not the web user... but if its working...

OH. I didn't understand. How do I check the owner of the sp resources folder and web user?
