Hello,

the badges work well for all of the different forum ranks but not for mods and admins.

I modified the moderator usergroup and selected a badge, but it does not show up. I also tried the individual users custom special ranks, but that doesn't show up either for the mods. How do i fix this?

admins dont belong to usergroups or get forum ranks.. so they cannot get badges that way...

they can get special forum rank badges though - that is how we display them here...

by default usergroup badges are not shown in the forum...  we show the forum ranks instead... but you can add them to your template files to display them...

see:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....mberships/

as to why special ranks dont show up, can you provide any more info?  by default our themes include the special rank display... can you check the spTopicView.php template file in your sp theme and see if the function call sp_PostIndexUserSpecialRank() is still in there?

I believe we have a same or similar problem.

Desired outcome:  An admin has the same badge as assigned to our Moderator group. (Special Rank Badge)

I found the referenced code in sp-topic-view-functions.php and have looked at the previously supplied page and I do not understand how to make this adjustment.

Thanks

If I understand you correctly - why can you just not add the moderators and admins into the same member list to use the same badge in the same special ranks definition?

just to reiterate, its separate template functions for displaying rank badges, special rank badges and usergroup badges...  to show the type, you must be using the right template function..

Thanks.  It turned out that the person had not been added to the group specifically associated with the special rank badge.  Now found and added, it works fine.  Turned out the system works just fine once we use it as designed.  :-)
