Support Forum
All of the posts on my forums are displaying blank. Previously existing posts are displaying as blank. If I edit the posts, the text appears in the edit window and I can edit it there, but after saving the edited post, it still displays as blank. New posts also are showing up as blank.
Help!

You will need to register for a free account in order to visit this forum (access is set by s2member pluggin). You can delete this free account at any time later. You can register for this account at http://www.dragonsbard.com/wp-.....n=register
What is stranger still is that a second installation on the same server is functioning just fine.
Sorry - as a matter of policy we prefer not to register on peoples sites but please do create an account for us to use.
Please PM credentials to both myself and to 'Mr Papa'. Please include in the PM a link to your site, a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem. And one of us will take a look for you to see if we see any obvious cause.

Well, well. I suppose it keeps things interesting but believe it or not this is a first! I have never seen posts disappear before and there do not seem to be any clues to be gleaned from the html. So - we need to work out at what point it is vanishing so we can narrow it all down a bit.
To start off - could you go to the forum admin > Toolbox > Data Inspector. See the top right section - Topic View Data. Can you turn on the option to display spThisPost. You - using the same credentials you are currently using in the admin - will be the only person to see this by the way.
Now run the forum - in fact that page you sent me would be good as it just has the one post on it. What you should see is the raw data before it is processed for display. Can you see the post content showing up. It will be rough and unformatted but is it there?
And there is one question I failed to ask at the top of this thread. They clearly used to show up so what has changed? WP Theme? WP Plugin? Recent update to something?

I have turned on the option to display spThisPost. I then went to the post page and ran the forum. The content appears to be there immediately following [post_content] => and before [first_pinned] => 0. So the content is there.
I regularly update my plugins and there have been a number of updates lately which would make it difficult to determine which one is causing the problem, should that be the source. The theme has not changed in that time and the theme is identical in this installation to the other installation which is functional.
Do you wish to see the generated result?
Does the other installation have the same set of plugins? At the moment I am wondering about some sort of text filter that is removing all of the content when we perform the filtering. And if this were the case it could well come from another plugin. Would you now if you have any plugins that might be manipulating text in some way? Especially one that has been updated recently around the same tim the forum started to misbehave...

I'm looking at a side by side comparison of both sites plugins. There are a few differences. For clarity, the 'functional site' refers to the website where the forums are working properly. The 'broken site' refers to the website where the forums are not displaying content.
- I am ignoring plugins on the functional site which are not on the broken site.
- I noticed that the plugin for SEO Pressor was not on both lists. I deactivated the plugin and the site now appears to be displaying the content again.
- I suppose I'll need to find a different SEO helping agent!
Deactivating this plugin brought the displays back. One of the functions of this plugin is to populate the post with SEO help. Somehow this must be in conflict with the display here.
I would recommend yoast seo or all in one seo... best two out there...
you could also play with the strict wp api option on forum - integration - page and permalink and see if that helps...
