so you are saying when you have our file uploader plugin enabled you have the issues? you did apply the change in post #16?
yes, I did already. Unfortunately it doesn't change anything.
at this point, this is a one off issue with you… so we would need to take a closer look… if you want you can provide both andy and myself a temp account on your site so we can take a look… PM the details if that works for you…
Well, my backend is in german, if you can and want manage german, you can take a closer look at my settings. 
I'll send you (Andy = Yellow Swordfish?) the password and username immediately.
And more little Bugs
- Currently it's not possible for me to save the Identities, e.g. AIM, MSN, Skype. If I click on the button "Update Identities", nothing happens. It's not caused by another JavaScript.
- Curiously the button to save the settings in the Profile Tabs suddenly disappeared. It's a mystery to me (
), but fortunately it's still possible to save the settings with the Enter-Key. Here: http://www.abload.de/img/1tzjl8.jpg - The custom profile fields i've added with the plugin "Custom Profile Fields" aren't shown on the profile page. You can only edit them in the backend, in your own profile. For other members or visitors they're not visible on the front page.

All of this still sounds like a conflict with something else.

I know Andy did something on your site, but not sure exactly what... I think I found the reason for what Andy was seeing though... and I have committed a change to the plugins svn... are you running out of svn?

First of all: Thank you for your help. The Pluploader seems to work now, but it's still not possible to write PMs, to add and show custom profile fields and to save the identities. :/

... and couldn't you use the old algorithms for the avatar upload in simple press? Like in 4.4.5? The new methode is kind of strange, because, as I mentioned in another thread, the simple press avatar doesn't replace the local wordpress avatar anymore. So there are two different avatars for every user: One on for the front page (WordPress Local Avatar, search in Google for 'Simple Local Avatar') and the other for the forums. 😉

why cant you show custom profile fields?? how are you trying to show them?
show what happens on PMs? and save identities? using firefox and firebug, any js errors in the console?
algorithms for avatars?? not following... you can replace wp avatars with sp avatars... or you can choose to use the wp avatar for sp... but you cannot do both which I think is the other thread you are referring too... if it worked for you before, just dumb luck as it was a serious 'infinite loop' potential and causing issues for folks...

I use the plugin Web Developer and no JavaScript error occur, as I said some posts before. Everything seems to be fine, but saving Identities and sending PMs won't work.

I figured out an alternative ... it works for me. I only use the plugin "Simple Local Avatar". I have deactivated the avatar upload from SimplePess. Now the uploaded avatar is shown in the forums and on the front page (comments etc.).
