Can edit own posts for time period - how long?

I noticed there's a new option (new to me that is) under Permissions > Editing called "Can edit own posts for time period". I can't find any definition of how long that time period is though. Is this something that can be set by admins or is it preset to say 24h? I've activated this for our users as neither two own post edit options really work for our environment.
