Support Forum
Hi,
I couldn't install the plugin myself and had to hire a programer. Yes, I'm not tech savvy at all :).
I'm starting to translate my Spanish page to English and would love to have a separate forum in English. Can this be done? If so, Can you please tell me how?
I wouldn't mind sharing users...
Thanks so much,
Bego
Hey Begona, you don't need a separate forum, you can just use the language and theme plugin that can be found here
https://simple-press.com/downl.....d-plugins/
I don't use the language part, but it does give people the choice to switch between languages, you can see more info on the codex
thanks kvr28.. indeed that plugin lets users select the language they want to see the forum... it does, of course, depend on translations for a given language being available... but you can see them at: http://glotpress.simple-press.com

Thanks so much!!
I downloaded the plugin, but I don't see it in the plugin section of the forum for me to activate, just as I have done with all the other SP plugins I have.
Also, when trying to get into the codex, it says that my membership has expired.
Can you please help me?
Thanks
Apologies for the codex access problem. I have manually reset the account so you should be good to use it now, We have this odd and random issue...
So - did you put the plugin in the correct place (by default /wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/) ?
Is it unzipped?
And can you check the folder name for it? Is there a stray -1 on the end or something like it. If so it needs removing...

Everything is working fine! I did misplace the files... they are working now.
But I think, given the nature of the forum (orchid talk with a lot of abbreviations) it would be better to have two separate forums, one in English and one in Spanish. Can I do this? Maybe create two separate pages?
Thanks so much
Assuming you are okay with different content in each forum, that is achievable... I would just put a big message at the top explaining the two different language forums...
you could get exotic too and have two different usergroups - one per forum - with access... then you could allow users to opt out of one of the usergroups on their profile so they wouldnt have to 'see' the other language... might be more than is needed...
