Support Forum
My site host has implemented a .htaccess rule to only allow specific IP addresses to log in. Obviously, with thousands of registered users this won't work for the forum. They set up the rule because of brute force attacks on the site. They are now going to remove the rule so users can log in but say that I need to look at other ways of preventing unauthorised access. Their suggestion was that I install this plugin which will allow me to change the WP login slug.
Can I use this without causing problems with SimplePress? If so, is there anything I need to do within the SimpePress settings if I change my login slug?
yes... all logins are through wp... we just have a wp login form inside the forum...
but it sounds like you might need to remove the inline login form and just have the login button redirect to your new login page...
see: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....outbutton/
for how to change the button from opening the inline form to redirecting to your page (hint: add the logInLink argument)...
its in the spHead.php template file... you could also then remove the inline login form template function in the same file.,
