if there really is no underscore in the wp db prefix, than you would want to remove it also in the meta_key... and you did if for your user id? and set the admin column to 1 in sfmembers for this user?

can you post your entire usermeta entry?

and if that is not working, please explain the issue again - perhaps I have misunderstood you...

to be clear, not the entire usermeta... just the single entry you added...

umeta_id = 12

user_id = 4

meta_key = iropicapabilities

meta_value = a:14:{s:13:"administrator";s:1:"1";s:18:"SPF Manage Options";b:1;s:17:"SPF Manage Forums";b:1;s:22:"SPF Manage User Groups";b:1;s:22:"SPF Manage Permissions";b:1;s:21:"SPF Manage Components";b:1;s:15:"SPF Manage Tags";b:1;s:16:"SPF Manage Users";b:1;s:19:"SPF Manage Profiles";b:1;s:17:"SPF Manage Admins";b:1;s:18:"SPF Manage Toolbox";b:1;s:24:"SPF Manage Configuration";s:1:"1";s:18:"SPF Manage Plugins";b:1;s:17:"SPF Manage Themes";b:1;}

I've set admin to 1 in iropisfmembers for user_id = 4

I get a very restricted set of options in WP for the Forum plugin

The below screenshot is what I see...

if I set all rows to admin = 0 in in iropisfmembers (so that I have no SP admins - but only WP admins) I get the below screen which is what I want.sp_admin_optionsFULL.pngImage Enlarger

One other thing -  through another plugin Admin Menu Editor - the menu in the left column of WP changes from Course Forum (with admin set to 1) to Forum (with admin set to 0) - actually as I type this - I realise that this was probably the issue - I deactivated that plugin as well as another Advanced Access Manager - Hey presto it works now...  Thanks a lot for your help - I got there in the end.

good news... actually, the other day we had an issue with the advanced access manager causing problems with some plugins, including Simple Press where they were managing admin capabilities... Need to remember about that one...
