Using Plupload - Not using a Lightbox type plugin, could it be the theme?

so if you think the image is really there, you might have an permissions issue on your server and that location is not web accessible...  typically this is an issue with sp-resources or lower... on some servers, due to restrictions, they get created incorrectly...

can you verify the permissions of sp-resources and forum-image-uploads?  they should match wp-content... also verify the owner (uid and gid)... again should match wp-content...

might also check forum - integration - storage locations and see if that page thinks the storage location is valid...

on your server, what is your php setting for allow_url_fopen?

as to the lightbox effect, is this the default theme or have you made changes?? if latter, please check http://codex.simple-press.com/.....tes-5-3-0/ the section on popup dialogs...
