When I click on a users profile and try to make them a moderator (or any other usergroup) - clicking submit does nothing.

I can make the little circle green, but actually clicking submit doesn't make the browser process the request.

Thank you for your time and for creating such a great product for us to use. Bugs are to be expected, I wasn't trying to sound sarcastic. 🙂

please explain further...  you tried to make them a moderator from their sp profile?  not sure I follow...

you need to add them to a usergroup on forum - usergroups - manage usergroups that has moderator peermissions on some forum(s)...

Yes, I have a moderator user group that has permission to moderate the forums. However, in there user profile I am not able to move anyone to that (or any other) user group.

1. Everyone registers and is automatically entered into the standard member user group.

2. I have a few members I'd like to make moderators.

3. I have a moderator user group with moderator access.

4. when I try to move members to the moderators user group in the user profile I can click the button beside the moderator user group and make it green, but when I click submit nothing happens.

NOTE: The moderator user group is just an example. I am unable to move anyone to any different user group than the one they are currently in.

Thank you so much for your timely and gracious help!

I nudged Steve (Mr Papa) this morning on this one. Even though he wrote the code for that he had forgotten it was there - hence his confusion and his first response.

He needs to investigate the code for this to see if we can replicate the issue. Meanwhile i would recommend that you make your member adjustments in the Manage User Groups admin panel which is much better suited to mass assignment anyway...

quick question on this...  I had about 5 minutes tonight so ran a quick test...

first, you say move members... is that what you really mean?  or are you adding a usergroup membership to individuals?  When adjusting the memberships, are you changing the state of more than 1 checkbox? ie membership...

in my quick test tonight, I only added a membership to a user... it actually worked and the user got the new membership... however, the checkbox did not get checked when reloaded...

so wondering if you can actually go into the admin at forum - usergroups - manage usergroups and see if the users you tried to change actually got the memberships you wanted...  and that perhaps its actually an issue showing the right checkboxes checked...

anyways, just my 5 min test... will research more this weekend...

have committed a change to this for trunk that made it hard to hard to add usergroup memberships... but not sure I can duplicate your issue so would appreciate answers to my questions above...

also, please be sure to read the checkbox labels... the top section, the current memberships are leave this usergroup membership options... and the bottom one is add this usergroup membership...

the issue I ran into was that if usergroup membership existed (in the leave section), it was also duplicated in the add section... so for it to work properly, you had to add the membership that already existed...  so worked, but not clear on the actions...
