Hi guys.

I upgraded to the version 5.6 but I cannot update the database.

It is stuck to "Update from 5.5.11 to 5.6" - I have it in Italian, but it should be right - and that's it!

No way to upgrade the dB.

What am I supposed to do?

What do you mean by 'stuck' please? Do you mean you are getting the spinning activity icon but no other messages? If so then are you able to use the browser console to look for script errors when you try and action the update?

Problem solved!

It was a conflict with the theme.

Now I need to fix the CSS issues, which is more complicated...

Good stuff, thanks for the update!

What are the CSS issues? Anything we might be able to help with?

Hey Ike!

I read somewhere I need to change some lines of code. I am using a child theme of Reboot.

The problem is, I do not remember where I read it. I am getting old...

I noticed the forum looks slightly different, some lines are not aligned. Also, I logged in using my iPhone and the New/Updated Topics doesn't work...

If this is a proper child theme - I.e., one that does NOT replace the CSS as a child theme should not - then there should be no actual requirement to change anything. Is that the case?

I am confused, Andy...

The child theme has its own overlay, which is not the original one. It's modified. Is that OK?

But as I said, the forum now looks slightly different and the New/Updated Topics doesn't work on iPhone.

No - the overlay is fine. The important part as far as updating is concerned is whether you have included in the child theme a main .css file in the /styles folder. You can safely include one for small overrides but it should not be the whole thing from the parent.

If you want to PM me credentials once more I can take a look at the mobile to see if anything stands out as wrong.

Yes - these are all because you appear to have copied the entire original CSS file (actually called reboot.php) into your child theme and I have no idea why.

Perhaps we should start by asking what it was/is, exactly, that you wanted to change from the standard, supplied 'reboot' theme that required you to make a child theme? Then we can work out the  best way to rescue you.
