Upgrade runs this URL: https://trigofva.com/wp-admin/.....me-upgrade

"Access denied - you do not have permission" -- I'm an administrator. I have access to everything.

I would prefer to not have to manually upload the theme updates.

css-only
You have version 1.2.13 installed. Update to 1.2.14. Requires SP Version 5.5.5.

what do you mean by administrator?  are you an sp admin? that is different from a wp admin...   you need to be an sp admin with manage themes capability...

you can see this on forum - admins - manage admins...

Is that ('Access denied – you do not have permission') truly the message you are getting because that actual text is neither a WordPress or a Simple:Press message.... And at what stage in the proceedings do you get it displayed?

Yes, that was the exact message, thus the quotes...

This is neither WordPress or Simple:Press. This is your server denying you access. It m,ay be because the permissions and/or UID/GUID are incorrectly set. It may just be that you can write to it but not delete files - and the WP updater deletes files and then writes the new ones.

If you know how to check the permissions, GUI/UID then the 'wp-content/sp-resources' folder - which is the default - needs ot have exactly the same permission profile as the parent wp-content folder. It should have already as you have bene using it. Next step would be to check the .htaccess file to make sure that is not stopping you and then, I guess, ask your hosting support.
