I just joined with a Gold membership and I'm trying to download some plugins. When I try to access "simple-press.com/download-plugins/" I get bounced back to the home page.

sorry, but you havent actually bought a Gold Membership yet... your purchase was made with an echeck and the funds have not been transferred to us yet... it typically takes 3-5 business days for paypal to process an echeck purchase... when the purchase completes and the funds are transferred, your account will become active...

for what its worth, we do grant you access to the support forum in this case... just  not downloads...

Are you saying that if I had used a credit card I would have received immediate access to the downloads? Had I known that I would have done so. You should make that fact clear on your website. I was hoping to take advantage of the additional free time over the holidays to get as much work done as possible on my bicycle club's new website.

Thanks for explaining the situation. I guess I'll just have to be patient. Will I be notified when the funds have cleared?

I am afraid this is a PayPal thing which is all a part of the automated membership/registration system. I have always supposed they are trying to dissuade people from using e-checks as presumably they do not make the same level of commission. But I might be doing hem an injustice.

I would assume paypal would notify you when the transaction was completed, but dont know for sure...

I will send you a quick note when I noted the transfer has occurred...
