I only mentioned total cache because you did...
Total Cache is one of the ones that seems to trigger it every time and even if it’s the only one I can’t get SP to install & activate either
maybe I misunderstood the point, but if total cache is ignoring the forum page (for all types of caching active), would think they would coexist...
we will be here should you hear from your host... you still have issues with SP not active, is that still right?

Maybe a daft question - but have you tried downloading another copy of SP and uploading to your server just in case something got corrupted in the download process? Unusual and very rare but always possible. And can we also assume that all of your SP plugins are up to date?

I had to give in and get some sleep. I had an email from host this morning who found:
"You had an issue on your database, on wp-options > cron entry. This was loading 10MB each time someone loaded your site."
So who knows WHAT caused that, but everything seems ok with all my plugins re-activated right now... crossing fingers it doesn't happen again.

That's scary. I must admit I have never been that keen on the way WP uses option records. But that is way over the top!

Ah, this is a known issue in wp for 4.3... see the ticket: https://core.trac.wordpress.or.....cket/33423
and includes workaround to solve until 4.3.1. is available...
