Support Forum
The jQuery library is being loaded from google instead of WordPress and of thatr is not bad enough it is loading an oput of date version.
Try switching to the default Wp theme to see if things work and then, if it does, you will know where to look for the problem.

Actually, that's not good news. A lot of themes use an older jQuery. Does this mean that editing posts and the admin toolbox will not function on these?
For example I use a very common and popular theme pureVISION on http://guildwars2.si/tabla/ and users can't edit their own posts (a new page loads, but there is no edit window/editor) and I don't see the toolbox.
Is there a way to implement these functions in a different way?
Because I'm not going to change my whole theme, just so the forum will become functional.
well if themes dont keep up with wp as far as jquery being used that will cause problems... or at least for plugins that use jquery...
no way plugins can keep working with old themes and older version of jquery... that would be a logistical nightmare... they are designed and tested to work with the jquery that comes with wp... and plugins should indicate how far back with older wp versions they go... in case of sp 5.0, we need wp 3.3 and its version of jquery...
you could try changing the template tag in your sp theme for the forum tools to make them always shown vs the hide/unhide default... and see if that works... but would assume you are still going to have other issues with the old jquery...
you could also edit your theme (probably safe since it does not appear to get updated) where its loading jquery and if the current page is the forum, just load the wp version of jquery instead...

Well, this is disappointing to hear. Because when you settle on a theme, you usually stick with it for a longer period of time, and theme authors in general move on to building new themes and don't necessary update existing ones.
I guess I'll have to hack yet again.
I hear ya on the themes... and thats a problem when wp moves on and the theme does not... trust me, staying compatible with wp does take effort... we try to support as many old versions as possible, but it eventually becomes not possible with all the changes... jquery is a particularily nasty one...
but as I said, if your theme is not changing, just fixing how the jquery is loaded on the forum page is very simple, just an 'if' statement...
