Support Forum
Hi support,
We don't have a functional toolbox anymore. After you click on it it opens after 10 seconds but the buttons don't work at all.. First it worked but we didn't upload any plugins or else on our website.. please some advise !

I am very suspicious when things that work one day do not work the next as it virtually always means something has changed. WP theme update; new WP plugin active etc.
First question. Your WP theme is trying to load x2 style images for retina displays on all images. Which - by the way - is slowing down the page load time quite significantly. Have you always had this feature turned on or have you turned it on recently? - I ask this because while it looks like the page has fully loaded it actually has not as it continues to try to load x2 images (when necessary) and times out for each one generating a 404. So the page could look like it has loaded and be unresponsive when in fact it might still be loading.

99.9% of the time that something like this fails it comes down to a scripting conflict that is killing off the jQuery library session which just stops functioning when it hits an error.
The way to check for this is to open the browsers web console - have it set for errors - load the page and then click the button. This will show any errors encountered in the console. If you are unsure how to use the console it is very easy and this quick guide should help.

Well i checked it out, indeed the retina option of our theme is bugging. Reported that to the builder.
But i switched it to a default wp theme.. and these are the errors:
Uncaught ReferenceError: sp_forum_vars is not defined
at Object.success (eval at (sp-forum.js:1), :1:11595)
at i (jquery.js:2)
at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js:2)
at y (jquery.js:4)
at XMLHttpRequest.c (jquery.js:4)

This is within the forum.. please look at it.
We had a option that you can Load the Jquery before the website Jquery is loaded..
I can also make an account for you if you want to investigate better.
Over on the right hand side it will usually tell you exactly what file the problerm was in. Do you know what it was for the top one?
One more important question however... are you completely up to date with SP and SP plugins? You mentioned recently installing the Reputations plugin. But is your base SP up to date? Any updates pending in the WP dashboard?

But how are you going to fix this then? As i'm not a expert on it and we bought the product?
How about showing a little patience? And just for the record you did not 'buy the product' - it was free to use. Perhaps you have also noticed that I have been replying pretty quickly and attempting to gather information that might point to your problem.
And - once again . if it worked and then stopped without a software change then it is clearly not a problem with the plugin code. Things do not just 'stop' like that. So something has changed.
What about the Reputation plugin? Have you tried deactivating that?
By the way - in between each retry you should cleat your browser cache as it will hold on to the current scripts even if they have changed. Clearing the cache will ensure they are reloaded.
I asked in post 7 about the file name being shown against the first error. This would still be useful information to have and you have not yet provided it.
If all else fails then you suggestion of creating an account we can use i=s probably the next step to take. So - could you please create an account so that we can log in and see the forum behaviour. Please send a PM to both myself (Yellow Swordfish) and Mr Papa.
It helps if you can include links to not just your forum but also to this topic so we can get to it quickly to re-read what has been said. A brief reminder of the problem is also very helpful.
Finally - I am afraid I am going to have to hand you over to my colleague @mr-papa as I have to leave in a few minutes to cross the country for a family funeral.
