I can click on the person and click pm member but nothign happens...screen flashs but wont let me pm anyone

on your site?  sounds like a js conflict.  Is this something new?  was it working?  if so what might have changed?  theme or plugin updates?

try it with the browser console open and see what errors might be reported...
