Can't quote certain users?

Hey, on my forum there is a couple of users that we just can’t seem to quote, like, we’ll hit the “Quote” button on any of their posts, and literally nothing will happen, but we can go to the users above them, or below them, or on another page, or on another thread, and quote them just fine.

This is consistent for these specific users across all of their posts, also, these are completely regular users with regular accounts and no special permissions or anything, and nobody on the forums, admins and mods included can quote their posts through the “Quote” button.

Any ideas on what can be causing this?

well, there is no ‘user’ check or permission check for quoting…  so its sounds like a js conflict of some sort though not sure why it would very from post to post…

with the browser console open, try one that does not work and see if any errors reported…

latest sp version?  and tinymce version (or editor that you are using)?

Also – what are their display names?

We’ve resolved the issue! It turns out that it’s because their display names were too many words, or because it had punctuation in it.

Either way, changing their display names seems to have worked.

Can you give me a hint on what the names were? They should handle OK so it would be useful to know so we can investigate…
