Hi
I de-activated Simple:Press while working on the new user email issue (previously reported), and my efforts to force a password change at first login.
Now I'm getting an error when trying to re-activate:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function sp_add_glossary_keyword() in /home/webright/public_html/emgsdev/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/plupload/sp-admin-glossary.php on line 16 Fatal error: Call to undefined function sp_add_glossary_keyword() in /home/webright/public_html/emgsdev/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/plupload/sp-admin-glossary.php on line 16
Can this be fixed without updating either SP or WP (for now)? SP is on 5.5.9 and WP is 4.4.4 ?
Thanks, David
It seems you have update the file uploader plugin to a version that requires a higher version of simple press... yours is quite dated (5.6.7 is latest)...
you will either have to downgrade file uploader to an older version that you still have around...
or you will need to update simple press so your plugins and core are compatible..
or hand edit the file uploader plugin do not do the glossary keyword stuff.. but this may lead to other issues since you will still have potentially incompatible versions of your plugins and simple press core...
its important to keep them in sync... if you are not updating core for some unknown reason, you probably shouldnt update the plugins for it... at least not without verifying what the change is and whether the plugin update requires a specific version of the core... all plugin updates how the required simple press version for them...

one of two things you can easily do...
one, download simple press latest version from here... extract the plugin from the archive and then upload over the current version on your server via http://ftp...
two, temporarily change the name of the file uploader plugin on your server so it wont be active and you shouldnt get the error and be able to activate... of course, this might point out other issues is you have other out of sync plugins...

Good morning ... back to the task.
I renamed plupload and got SP reactivated.
I've tried to update SP (from the link in WP Updates) but I'm getting this error:
An error occurred while updating Simple:Press: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature
Have I really messed up the installation?
Thanks, David
Doing some web searching on that error message suggests that if the file itself is not corrupt - and we have a continual trickle of upgrades so, while we will not rule it out until we test it again I believe this is doubtful - then the most common reason seems to be that your web server has run out of allocated disk space.
Could this be a possibility? I believe it can be checked in cPanel (although I am unsure where as I have never looked for it). Or - of course - your web hosting support can tell you and suggest a course of action if it happens to be the case.
If you can check up on that first and I will do some more searching to see if anything else suggests itself.

I just downloaded and tested the archive.. it seems to be just fine... and as Andy says, we are getting folks upgrading as well...
not sure what is going on locally for you... at this point, I would just grab a copy from our site, extract it on your computer and then ftp up the simple-press folder and its contents... will be the same as updating through wp...

Hi everyone - time for an update.
I've successfully installed SP 5-6-7 by using FTP to upload the files.
However, I still get the zip bad format error on the three addons which need to be upgraded (File Uploader with Plupload, Print Topic and Profile Display Control).
I don't now think this is a server issue because I've updated some other plugins without them throwing any errors. I don't know enough about these things (servers, PHP and WP) to hazard a guess as to what it could be (or how to find out what's happening).
