Support Forum
I've searched the forum but I can't find a solution. I'm probably doing something wrong...
I uploaded an avatar for a test account, which worked fine. Now, I'm trying to remove the avatar (which will presumably cause the avatar image to revert back to the default SP avatar image).
However, when I navigate to Profile -> Edit Avatar and click on the "Remove Uploaded Avatar" button, nothing happens at all.
I've logged-in as both the test account user and as admin, but no luck.
Also, I've tried this in Google and Firefox just in case it's browser related.
Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks,
Mike
It will be no consolation but I am sorry to say it doesn't work for me either. We have clearly jogged something there... The odd thing is that I just tried it on my local development system where it DOES work bit as we have been reworking all of our Ajax this probably should not surprise me that much.
So there will be a fix in the next update to ensure this is working as it should. And again - apologies for the bug. It is, of course, always possible to perform a manual removal on the server and I can point you in the right direction if you really need to do it now.

I can't find what was wrong in the first place to be honest which is pretty puzzling! But it IS fixed for 5.6.8 that I can promise.
By default, user uploaded avatars are held on your server at:
/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-avatars/
for information - you can find all of the storage folder locations listed in the forum admin > Integration > Storage Locations panel.
When they are uploaded, the name is changed to include a unique timestamp, This ensures that there can not be an attempt to upload an avatar with an existing name and thus assign the wrong avatar to the wrong user! But of this was a test then hopefully you will be able to locate it easily enough.
If you are not sure, then your hosting control panel will usually come with some sort of file manager program or any decent FTP client can list a folders contents and allow a deletion. I believe this is all that needs to be done but I will check if there is a problem, whether any data needs changing. But I believe not.
