I upgraded to version 5.2 and now you can't see most of my forum. It's there if you click on the links in Unread and recently updated topics but not showing on the forum page. http://vapersplace.com/forum/
The main forum is only showing one and the vendors forum is only showing three.

Wow. You always expect some people to have odd issues after an update but strange that the first one should pop up in code that I do not believe had any changes at all! And I have to admit up front that I have no good ideas as to why this should be the case...
Is there any chance that you could set us up with an SP Admin account so that I can use the data inspector tools to see if I can trace what might be happening? It's almost certainly going to be something simple (I hope!) and this should allow me to trace the flow. It wont effect any other users on the site.
If you would be willing to set this up then please PM credentials to both myself and to 'Mr Papa'. Please include in the PM a link to your site, a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem. And one of us will take a look for you ASAP. But it DOES need to be an SP Admin account - not necessarily WP Admin.

This is most strange. What version did you upgrade from? Was it a pre-V4 version by any chance?

No. It was whatever version came before this newest one.

Smiles don't work and posting a topic doesn't work properly either. Is there a way I can go back to the previous version until the issues with this current version are fixed?

Oh dear - I was hoping it was an older version in which case I could have probably explained it. I admit at the moment I am stumped and even ore so as there were no code or database changes in this area and far as I can tell your set-up looks just fine.
I might need to get access to the actual database to look deeper. Is there any chance of that?

That seems to have found it. Never seen this before and I can't begin to understand why the update should have had any effect but basically both of your forum groups had the same sequence number. Correcting that seems to have done the trick.
I will look into that as having the same sequence number - while not right - should just produce a randomly sorted list but there you go - it seems to have been the culprit.
