I user on fiddlerman.com has been complaining about his capcha problems and here I logged in as the user and tested it myself. As you can see it doesn't work for me either.

Please advise.

more info please... standard desktop?  which browser?

It generally works, so likely to come down to a js conflict..

kind of anecdotal supported in that I tried it on the on the site registration and it worked fine on your site...  I couldnt try it on forum as guest...

The guy who had the problem is using Windows XP and Firefox.

I changed his password to test it on my machine and the above was a screenshot from my computer. I'm using Mac OS 10.8 with Firefox 23.0.1 and it obviously didn't work for me.

Right now I have both "Use spam tool on registration form" and "Add Captcha form to WP registration/signup form" checked. Should I have both options checked and what are the exact differences? To me, the word registration is confusing since I am only wanting it to be in effect when making the posts in the beginning.

Thanks

So hang on... if you are saying that it doesn't work for you using an up to date machine, OS and browser... then what you are really saying is that it doesn't work full stop. And the fact that this user complained is not really the point. Is that right?

and if it is not working at al then the next question has to be the usual question which is - what has changed? New plugins? New scripts? Anything at all?

I did all the updates for both wordpress and simplepress. This problem began after the latest updates. Unfortunately I did not do them one at a time so cannot say whether it was the wordpress update or the simple:press update. :(

BTW, I tested it again by creating a new registration on my site and it didn't work either. I'll PM you the new registration so that you can try it as well.

Sadly it is one of those things that you can't really get any useful information about by just using it as whatever is effecting it takes place up on the server and never reports back to the requester.

We have no other reports of a problem at this time so it does suggest something local. Can we assume you are using the most recent version (1.3.2)?

And you may want to deactivate it because it will be stopping people posting.

So - Steve - any ideas?

What if I uncheck the two, or just one option? See below:

Well I do not see any point at all in using both on the registration form but that doesn't effect saving posts - which is the problem at the moment.
