Support Forum
My account is an admin and has a capital J and the account name is Jay.
Any new accounts made, even with upper case letters are later changed to lowercase in the profile, forum, topics, widgets, and literally every other aspect of the site... which makes me think it is wordpress or buddypress, but i have been searching for hours and have found nothing and no solutions.
The only way i have figured out how to change it to a capitol is to either manually do it or enable users to be able to change their usernames... which is nonsense IMO because i don't want 1000's of people changing their names constantly 😛
Just ask if you need more info!
Thanks!
that is not simple press doing it, of course... just look here, your name is not in lowercase... and we just run stock forum stuff here...
this used to be an old problem in buddypress... what version are you running?
see: https://buddypress.org/support.....usernames/ for some reference...
the mentioned ticket appears fixed, so not sure...
do you have link to your site so we can see?

Thanks for the prompt response.
After hours of endless issues i decided to dump buddypress. Some of the integration information was left behind by bbpress before switching to simple press and has caused some major issues with the db and the $nice_name, $display_name. After getting rid of it there is still some issues going on in the back end, primarily the data base.
wp_nfkv_sfmemberships in the DB seems like its having issues with the forum "stats"
There are 1000 posts, but only some posts are considered in the "stats" of the site. Seems like there have been some users removed from the "top posters" including myself (But im an admin, do i even normally get that functionality?)
Is there anywhere besies wp_nfkv_sfmemberships that the info is stored so i can just replace it with the right values? Also how do is there anyway instead of "waiting for an hour" to update i can check the changes immediately?
Thanks for the response!
you can manually force the stats cron job to run whenever you want... on forum - toolbox - cron inspector, in the run cron area, you can fire this cron to make stats update:
sph_stats_cron
some of the stats are contained in sfoptions record... option names like spAdminStats, spForumStats, spMembershipStats, spModStats, spMostOnline, spPosterStats, and spRecentMembers
