Change image link to https

Hi guys.  This is Pete.

We just set our site up with an SSL certificate and made the URL change from http to https.  Everything's good on the site (green locks in the browsers) except for the forum.  It looks like it's because the dd_arrow.gif image link is still http and not https.

Can anyone tell me how I'd go about changing that image link from http to https?

This is what firefox's developer too gave me:

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://marketingrebelclub.com/classrooms/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image 'http://marketingrebelclub.com/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes/default/styles/images/dd_arrow.gif'. This content should also be served over HTTPS.

Thanks.

a little confused by that...  is that all you see?  asking because that image file is loaded in css as a background image and via relative path...  so it by itself shouldnt have a schema like that - it wiould match the theme...

are you sure the https is fully enalbed?  on the wp general settings, do both urls (site and blog) show with https?  on forum - integration - page and tools, does the forum url show with https?

and finally, have you set up wp proper per:  https://make.wordpress.org/sup.....wordpress/

Hey Mr. Papa.  Yes, that's all I see, it says there's only 1 warning...but I'm not real proficient with the developer tool.  Attached is two screenshots of the page that shows the https url and the 1 warning.

I double checked the wp general settings and both WP address and site address are http.  I also double checked > page and permalink > current permalink is https...  and as far as I can tell it's set up is in alignment with what's on https://make.wordpress.org/sup.....wordpress/

The site is at https://marketingrebelclub.com and if you click around, you'll see all the pages are https with the green lock.

Anything else you can think of?

Thanks for taking a look

I dont see a forum???  is it behind a paywall?

a bit confused since I dont see such an issue on my ssl test site... and again those images are css relative links...  but will have to do some more testing...

the first image isnt really useful since the image in question is a bit off to the right...  and the second image is odd and a bit puzzling since it seems to indicate the page was loaded via jquery???   out of curiosity, if you do a temp switch to the default wp theme, does the issue persist?

and @yellow-swordfish knows more about the quick links that I do, so he may have something to add in AM...

As @mr-papa says, that image is only ever specified in the CSS and is always referred to with a relative path just like all other images in the CSS files.

I would like to come back to one question though. You said above:

I double checked the wp general settings and both WP address and site address are http

Was that a typo or do you really mean 'http' because if http then they are incorrectly set.

That was a typo - WP address and site address are both https

I switched the theme to Twenty Fifteen and it's the same thing.

Here's login info, if you'd like to jump in and take a look.

Before I get too bogged down in trying to research why your site doesn't obey the CSS relative path rules, let's try something quickly that just might be responsible...

Go to the forum admin > Toolbox > Housekeeping and run the task 'Reset combined CSS/JS'

See if that resolves it. You will need to also clear your browser cache before seeing if the task helps.

actually, the combined css cache does convert everything to direct urls from relative urls...  so I think @yellow-swordfish has hit the nail on the head there... you have a stale css cache...  and clearing it as he asks, should resolve it...  just a note, there actually two buttons on the housekeeping page... one for css and one for js... would recommend running both...

That did the trick.

Thank you for the great support.  We appreciate it.
