I noticed this happening here the other day, if you click on the button most recent topics with unread posts, there seems to be a z-index issue where the pop up dialog is behind the box, I updated to the new simple-press version and am now noticing the same thing on my site. I checked the theme changes and don't see anything specific for that pop up.

Sounds good, just for clarification this is the one I am talking about, I am hovering over the bottom post and you can just barely see the dialog peeking out of the bottom.

I cannot replicate with Win 10 and FF... but from your image, do you mean the tooltip? or the drop edge shadow (grey) on the dialog?
