This is a very frustrating issue. I am simply trying to add a new moderator to my forum, but any time I click "Manage User Groups" and then click to add an administrator, I see the animated square wait, and it just stays there. Then if I click to any other page at all, including the home page or a blog post, I get a 505 error on my server. Very oddly though, if you aren't logged in the site works fine.

I have to wait 10 minutes and only then can I access my site again when logged in, and if I try to process again I get stuck again.

Please advise!

505 error???  That doesnt make much sense... means your server does not support the http protocol version in use by your browser...

do you have link to site?

any caching?

and you cannot add an administrator on the Manage User Groups panel so not sure what you are trying to do...  admins are added on forum - admins - manage admins...

The site is fluentin3months.com/forum

The 505 error only appears for me when I'm logged in, and only after clicking what I said. I went to User Groups - Manage User groups - Add members (under "Moderators") to crash the site.

However, clicking the option you just gave me solved the problem and I added a new admin fine. Although this issue of crashing the site just for me when logged in seems very odd. I'm worried it could crop up in some other way.

Yes, I do have caching on my site.

Thanks for the tip to solve the admin addition though!

as to caching, you really cannot cache the forum..  the wp page he forum shows on is dynamic in nature (all forum content appears on this single wp page)...  it should not be cached...

but glad its working... please come back if the problem reasserts itself...
