Support Forum
Under the Components/Custom Messages tab, when I try to add a Sneak Peak Message then click Update Custom Messages Component, I get a small "Please Wait" drop box which just sits there eternally. I have to click on another WP Dashboard item to get me out of the Components screen with no update occuruing. The same thing happens when I try to change the Login or Logout Redirects under Components/Login And Registration.
Any ideas as to how I might fix this?
Multiple - or indeed all - failures to update strongly suggests a javascript conflict of some kind. More usual in the front end than in the admin but not unknown.
Do you by any chance know how to use your browser's script/web console to see if and what script errors are reported?

Wordpress installed in http://www.srgv.ca/wpmain/ My Domain Pointer points to srgv.ca
domain pointer? what is that? are you saying the wp is actually installed in wpmain? did you do this the wp way (general settings options and http://codex.wordpress.org/Giv....._Directory) or via other plugin? the index.php file should exist in that upper directory...

Disregrd Domain Pointer comment, is an Ipage Hosting thing but am not using it. WP is installed in /wpmain. index.php exists in the root. All else seem to be working fine. Just can't change the logout redirect from the current http://www.srgv.ca/wpmain, where loging out from the forum directs user to http://www.srgv.ca/wpmain/wp-login.php where I want logout from forum to take user to the home page http://www.srgv.ca/
So basically you have a 500 server error to try and dig deeper into. Always difficult to track down. My http reference book describes it as 'part of the server has crashed or encountered a configuration error'. If it is only happening on very specific admin panels and is not a widespread issue then I do have to wonder if there may be some corruption in your installed php files. We have seen this sort of odd and puzzling behaviour in the past when the SP plugin was uploaded to the server using FileZilla - but have not heard of it happening for quite some time now.
I would suggest that first stop is the server error logs to see if there is any more information on there. And perhaps a word with your hosting support to see if they can track anything down...
The bottom line is that everyone groans when they hear the dreaded words '500 internal server error'...
