really?  weird, it should have helped in those cases...  I think...  Andy wrote the importer so he is more knowledgeable...  but on vacation until next week...

but you did try an import with that option?

normally when it dies like that in the middle, a post contains illegal characters...

Yeah - but I believe our programmer had to revert the utf8 on phpbb, to make it correspond with the rest of our site. phpbb vs. wordpress is not something I will recommend - never, ever!

Anyways, did you see this:

Yes, on every forum – except on the large one.. the "general talk".. The little "bubble" that pops up, with a message: "Forum indexes rebuilt" is blank also..

Maybe there IS something strange about that forum, but I can't understand what.

Do you have any suggestions to what I can do about it?

Sorry - I was referring to an answer I gave you earlier :)

This is what I meant:

The housekeeping -> rebuild forum indexes worked on every forum that was converted by gConvert.

Except for our largest forum, that also had some problems when I tried to import it on my testserver.

When I try to run the rebuild index-tool on the "General Talk"-forum we have (about 55.000 posts), nothing really happens. The little "bubble" that pops up, with a message: "Forum indexes rebuilt" is blank also.. but it comes up at least.

Do you know where I should look. to fix the problem, so the General Talk-forum also gets the right postcounts inside the threads (1, 2, 3 etc, instead of 1, 156111, 165648, 136514 etc)?

try rebuilding the index again...  but wait some time...  then look at forum - toolbox - error log and see if anything.. and also check your server error log...  you might just be exceeding your cpu time or memory again...
