I've searched around and having no luck with this.  Is there any documentation or just help you can provide with what the recommended size of custom icons should be?  I started looking into changing mine and didn't know where to begin!

Th really straight answer is - it is up to you! Whatever takes your fancy. But - if it is any help as a guide - our custom icons on this site are all sized to 40 x 40 pixels.
