Hi Guys,

I'm having some major issues with my site, somehow related to Visual Composer causing a PHP loop on my home page. To try to fix it, or at least narrow down the problem, I've turned everything off and started testing them one at a time.

For some reason, my forums won't show back up. There's a small portion at the top of the page, but no other info. This might be theme related, since that seems to be at the heart of my issue. But just in case there's a no-brainer reason you can point to, I figured I'd ask here.

You can check it out here - http://allaboutchile.com/forum/

Thanks

Joe

Seems to be working OK for me, though I am viewing the page as just a guest. Did you get it resolved?

Thanks Ike,

Very interesting. For some reason when I'm logged in, the forums disappear. But as a guest, they're fine. Any ideas for what to check?

Well the first thing to check, are you running any caching plugin of any type?

I do have one on the site, but it's deactivated right now. I also was using plugin organizer to make it work before, which is turned on now. When I first turned on Simple:Press, it was the only plugin on was doing this. since then I've been fiddling with turning plugins on and off to see if there are any changes to anything. Nothing seems to be affecting the forums.

what does visual composer do?  have you checked the server error logs when you get the blank screen?

Visual Composer helps build content on the pages or posts. It's an enhanced text editor, I suppose. From what I understand, it's quite popular with premium themes, and the host has never seen this sort of problem with it before. It came bundled with my theme.

The host has been checking the server, but I couldn't tell you much. I wouldn't understand the logs even if I did see them.

I do have these notices today in the SP error log

July 20, 2014 4:48 am | spaErrNotice | 3 | php

file: /simple-press/admin/panel-options/forms/spa-options-global-form.php
line: 50
function: spa_options_global_form
Notice | Undefined index: chile_pages_editor

July 20, 2014 2:50 pm | spaErrNotice | 4 | php

file: labout/public_html/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/plupload/library/sp-plupload-components.php
line: 372
function: sp_plupload_do_show_attachments
Notice | Undefined property: stdClass::$forum_id

Does that tell you anything?

Thanks,

Joe

To my knowledge, all it does is enhance the text editor. They call it a "Front end and back end drag and drop page builder."It adds a lot of capability, making it a very helpful tool. So perhaps it's "doing something" on the front end in that it adds style and layout.

You can check it out here

Does that answer your question?

OK - sorry - first time on this thread. I have read it through but am still unclear on one point. Are you saying that with this 'Visual Composer' deactivated then SP works for you when logged in as admin? Or am I missing the point about this.

And if I AM missing the point then perhaps what we may need will be an account so we can see the display ourselves and see if we can spot anything...
